The floor plan
To successfully balance an open and inviting bathroom on the one hand with an intimate place of retreat on the other, Bertrand Lejoly deployed an unconventional subdivision of the double washbasin.
“I wanted to create a direct link to the bedroom, which is why it was important to strike the right balance between openness and a seamless transition between the two areas. At the same time, this creates a harmonious symmetry and optimally uses the available space.”
Bertrand Lejoly selected his own D-Neo bathroom range for the interior equipment and reinterpreted it for the new ambience: “D-Neo is subtle – and never dominant. At the same time, the range does not shrink into the background, but rather emphasizes the individual accents of the interior”.
Interior equipment
Combined with warm and soft materials, the complete bathroom range D-Neo acts like a screen that can project any personality into the room. This flexibility allows the freedom for something unique and timeless to be created.
During the design process he opted for a minimalistic approach with light, open vanity units where the most important products are stored within easy reach. The tall cabinets and the bathtub underpin the clear visual lines.
In addition to the pared-down washing-area solutions, Bertrand Lejoly opted for two tall cabinets in which all other products and textiles are stored behind closed doors. This retains the lightness of the bathroom without compromising on storage.
Materials and details
When selecting the materials, Bertrand Lejoly opted for dark wood and black faucets. “Green plays a central role in the room and subtly complements the materials, giving the whole room a consistent feel,” he added. This sets the bathroom apart from the more reserved colors used in the other rooms to create a genuine place of retreat.
The
shower and shower-toilet are placed behind doors. When closed, the doors give the
impression of a storage wall that harmoniously rounds off the overall picture
of the bathroom.
The shower is also located behind a door. The showerhead ensures a feel-good shower experience, while the concealed shower mixer blends into the visual lines of the design.
