Maximum use made of the opportunities presented at the world’s leading trade fair - D

uravit presents armada of new products

The world’s large leading trade fair for sanitaryware, heating and air-conditioning technology took place in Frankfurt last week. Exhibitors included Hornberg-based bathroom manufacturer, Duravit, with an armada of new, design-oriented bathroom concepts and technical innovations. The new product range comprises a total of 14 new projects, including three new design lines. The German-Russian architect, Sergei Tchoban, designed Esplanade, the first opulent bathroom range to be included in the Duravit programme. Designer Matteo Thun’s philosophy behind his Onto range is the “beauty of economy”. With Darling New, the new edition of the Darling bathroom range, Sieger Design builds on the successful concept of “lots of design for a little money”.

Duravit also demonstrates its rapid pace of development with a whole range of new wellness products. The new St. Trop steam shower by Philippe Starck offers wellness pleasure, even in the most compact of spaces. The EOOS design group developed the Nahho flotation tub that allows the bather to float weightlessly in water. It is also the brains behind the innovative OpenSpace shower enclosure that, to save space, can simply be folded back against the wall after showering.
In addition, Philippe Starck extended the Starck 1 bathroom classic to include two new washing area solutions and he also redefined the mirror and the mirror cabinet. Last but not least, with the new SensoWash business area, Duravit is setting new standards in toilet hygiene. The SensoWash Starck shower-toilet seat was developed in cooperation with the French designer; for the first time, this combines design and showering comfort in equal measure and promises a new feeling of hygiene, cleanliness and freshness.

In addition to introducing its new products, Duravit also put the spotlight firmly on sustainability: as the main sponsor of the international “Water is Life” poster competition organised by the ZVSHK (Zentralverband Sanitär Heizung Klima), Duravit invited visitors to attend the prize-giving at its stand on 15 March 2011. The successful competition with almost 5000 participants from 83 countries is an international statement about the sustainability of the drinking water supply.

The poster contest "Water is Life" was another successful program point at the fair.

After the five days of the trade fair that saw a tremendous amount of interest in the Duravit stand, Management Board Chairman Franz Kook summed up the positive experience: “I’m certain that we made maximum use of the opportunities at this leading international trade fair. Visitors to the fair gave us some very positive feedback about our new products. So we are very satisfied and highly motivated.” The trade fair attracted a total of 204,000 visitors, 35% of them from abroad.
