Down to the finest detail. The third millennium is seeing a third incarnation for many of Switzerland's old style Grand Hotels. One example is the "Bellevue" in Gstaad, where the pairing of a solid, stable building with a new concept brought a top place in the Swiss list of "newcomer" hotels. The recipe: superb service and an excellent kitchen plus a very special kind of luxury in equipment and furnishings. Room keys made by craftsmen, rather than plastic cards; steel pin light switches – and natural stone walls and flooring in the bathrooms, creating a perfect stage for ceramic works of art. Opened as a 4-star hotel in 2002, the Bellevue has since been officially upgraded. Obsession with detail pays off!
