1930s lines. Insiders know that Miami is a key location for American art deco. And no one thinking of creating a designer hotel for Miami Beach will be able to completely purge their head of images from the 1930s. The formal world of the Setai isn't streamlined, but rather influenced by the style of Shanghai in the 1930s. Some of the stones in the lobby actually come from houses in the Chinese port city. Whether it's Shanghai or Miami: furniture, wall coverings and accessories are modern but have nothing in common with the pure functionalism of the 30s. That's something that the bathrooms, with their warm southern colours, make perfectly clear.
